The people of this town have paid more attention to a tavern name. Than the loss of a well known of its citizens.

http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewtopic.php?t=95978

Ha ha any who like the few of our town who actually use this forum is enough words for me to listen to alone? Nice try and rk having an honor system? Bah such lies added to boot. One should verify versus spout of the usual hear say they are now known for.

park army - Now to the mayor, unless some one is being rude or inactive in a tavern they should not be kicked, and dyl being overly rude is Hard to belive very nice man but very opinionated much like yourself.

As for price caps, I belive they are unnecsary and will confuse people. So I dont realy see why you are trying to create them, also skilled work shops should be getting at least a 20 pound wage if not the Normal 22.

First Park I will say the instance Dillian is speaking of being kicked out. He was away for 25 minutes. He was not perminantly kicked out just a quick kick and unban. He was not alone in getting kicked, and the other who had been. Did not come in trying to start more fights. Which is the night you came in mind you and even told him to leave. Park you have been trying to play in the middle and it is appreciated. This reaction just like in this thread is exactly why the changes have been inacted. If sir you will read in the town yourself. You will see I am NOT trying to inact any price caps. If I was sir it would be done. Infact this is a conversation thread that one group is choosing to hold for fact when there is none. I have clearly said it shall NOT happen. It is not my fault this person and group of people keep crying foul even when there is none! If one wants the name back. Simply learn to grow up and get along. Stop with lies such as that. Stop chasing people from the “Town tavern” I since taking office this few days have registered 51 complaints in this town. 51! You honestly think for one moment that a single one of you is better than 51 others? Consider this a call out from a beyond sickened mayor. You all are going massively bonkers over a name. Grow up!

My last words are this now. The behaviors I have seen since all this started. Are applorable. I promised Lord Justinan the only person to talk to me humanely and like an adult. That I would complete this term. Once this term is up. I am leaving rk. Have your name back, and hold great pride in it. That you in all your arrogance, and stubborness. Not willing to admit your own fault in all this have chased many players from town over this, and convinced me to give up my own dreams. What I have worked for for two years now and quit. As a brilliant person once said to me.

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet

What matters is what something is, not what it is called.

It's still the same tavern, as long as the beer is cold and the company's good, what's there to complain about?

Your town will run smoothly as it can for one who received it in such a mess. You will own the entire town. I will only log in to buy and sell. I will no longer be part of bw or soon rk.

Now I shame you all for your part in rumor milling. For mistreatment of 52 people. I say 52 as I include myself to the 51 others. Is your make believe pride so really worth chasing away so many? Yep I think you shown that yes your pride is more important than everyone else in town.

I wish you all well, and hope you get a grip.

Your soon to be former mayor.

Also be aware that by posting Marzena's comments, it is by no means meant as a proxy, rather as a clarification/defense to IG events that happens to be bolstered by Somerset's unofficial off-site forum dialogue. Mods, if this in some way violates a rule please inform me so that I can edit this post accordingly. I believe that I have not violated the rules, but this area is grey to me. Guidance always welcome and adhered to. OOC/)

My dear friend Lerendus,

I would have to agree with you, a name is just a name.

Yet when a name is actually a tradition, which you have obviously seen by the support here, it becomes so much more. It embodies the history of the people who make it what it is. Perhaps because you and Marzena are soooo new to Bridgewater, and perhaps even Somerset, you do not realize that the name of our beloved tavern is not a name, rather a tradition.

I too had no idea until OutlawCutie decided to make her mark on our town and change the name to suit her. It was then that those who had lived in Bridgewater for sooo long spoke up, much as I did and the Crossroads was returned to its former name, only after Ilaniol became mayor and honored that tradition.

So you have to know the people of Bridgewater to understand what crime of insensitivity this was. We have discovered that in this post, that the changing of the name was in reaction to something:

http://somerset.quickbb.net/mayor-office-f56/it-really-sad-that-t1738.htm#32307

Ironically, Mayor marz is speaking of yet another time wherein she went on a tangent donning her "Golden Boot" as she so lovingly calls the ability to exercise power over those who do not have any. The time I spoke of was when I was asked to move to the Lord's seat and I was trying to explain why I would rather go to another tavern. The Art of listening is much more difficult to master than the Art of hearing.

Now to return to the post that is now referred to in the TH scroller:

Marzena wrote:
Welcome to the Famous Crossroads Tavern. See why its famous here:
http://somerset.quickbb.net/mayor-office-f56/it-really-sad-that-t1738.htm#32307

Apparently changing the name was in retaliation for something? I had a hard time deciphering what was said? "This reaction just like in this thread is exactly why the changes have been inacted."

Moreover, I think that it may be the Mayor who is putting more into the name than I:

Marzena wrote:

I have heard tha,t because we asked to have the name changed back that our Mayor will leave England (OOC: Quit RK.)

Marzena wrote:

To her it is just a name, not a tradition. So then, why take such extreme measures as yet another dramatic reaction to a simple solution. We don't want our TH tavern name changed to MMM, which I have been told stands for our Mayor's initials. I have also been told that the Crossroads may be one of Somerset's oldest taverns aside from the "Rubber Ducky" in Bath. I can not comment on the validity of this, as the Crossroads was before I came to England (OOC: Started playing RK. OOC/)

So I ask you, Why would the mayor call it quits when the people of Bridgewater take a stand defending a tradition that we hold dear since before she ever stepped foot in town? No one asked her to leave England, we just want our traditions to remain.

And while we are pondering, perhaps someone can translate this sentence for me:

Marzena wrote:
Ha ha any who like the few of our town who actually use this forum is enough words for me to listen to alone? Nice try and rk having an honor system? Bah such lies added to boot. One should verify versus spout of the usual hear say they are now known for.

So I leave you dear friend Lerendus, the only one to disagree with changing the name back to The Crossroads Inn", with these thoughhts to ponder and questions to answer, for I am at a loss and unable to answer them.

I believe I can speak for the people of Bridgewater and thank our benevolent Mayor for returning our town hall's tavern to its time honored name. Could someone who she listens to ask her to fix the grammar?

Not this "The crossroads inn." missing capitalization to distinguish its significance and the rogue perriod.

It should be this "The Crossroads Inn" to align with proper English grammar.

Many thanks in advance.
Dill

Sometimes lord Dillian less is more. I will no longer mix words with you, or care about you twisting events and words. Even when one wins he continues to whine. Again intolerable. As current mayor I now award you with this award for your deplorable and continued behavior. Mayhaps you may share them with your friends.

I didn't think that simply commenting about the tavern's name change as I did, with a few others, was going bonkers ove the name change. I simply repeated my opinion calmly. I like the name as it was, now I don't think that's a big deal. Your response only makes it a bigger deal than thePoll thread. I'm thinking there's more to your rant than the name of the town's tavern..
As far as Dill and you, I don't understand where all this animosity comes from between you two, -but- that is besides the point now. I don't want to get into that tangent anyway. But yes, you and Dill have had much tension between you and I don't at all doubt it has made many tavern folk uncomfortable to witness it. But I am not going to lay blame or point fingers. You both know that it takes two.

All I'm saying is changing the tavern's name doesn't fix any of that. It doesn't make the folks who complain stop complaining. It only added more confusion and unhappiness to the mix, at least among any who cared one way or the other.

Now, having said all that, I don't understand why, after just winning the election, you say you want to leave England soon. Because you and one other person can't get along? Because some folk (admittedly including myself) didn't like the tavern renaming? You can still do a good job as mayor, and you can still continue living in England (or wherever you please) same as you always have, in spite of these things, aye? Sigh. WEll do as must, I will not argue with that, only state I don't understand it.

Well, I've said all I can say in the matter, and that's all. Here's hoping things can soon be less tense in my dear town Bridgewater.

You are correct Morrigan, and I appreciated your words. You are and always have been a wise woman of this town. Again know what ever I want is not possible. Simply because someone would rather control the way the town works from the outside. Rather than let anyone have a say, or opinion. This is chasing away more than just me. I would suggest someone go and talk to other towns members than just the cliché group. Your opinion on this matter rest assured has nothing to do with my leaving. An was listened to along with all the others who used respect and adult communications on the matter.

To Dillian you screamed TH be brought here for council. Here it is rather than address me here you take it where you know I can not go? An spew such lies to further and purposely agitate? Like it or not for the next 26 days I am mayor of Bridgewater. Dually voted in by the people of this town by majority. If you have an issue with the town. An wish it addressed. At least use here like an adult, instead of fuming to a massive populace of people who are not even in town. Next election I don’t care. I will not be here. If you can not use the proper resources to communicate with the town council and the mayor. Than simply put you truly do not wish your opinion nor beliefs to count. Furthering that simply put again you are saying your voice doesn’t count., or is more important than the other members of this town. We are all sick of jumping around because you get a hair tickling you in the wrong spot. If you want to understand then ask me and council here. Not on rk forums you are aware now the response you need, and understanding you claim to want will NOT be answered there.

I will add there is NO price caps, and NO wage taxes. Such words are PURE lies. An again to those who think they are better than all those others who have put in a tremendous amount of effort into this town. I wish you well, and to have a good day. I as mayor have brought a great amount of profits to BW. I have opened trades and set fair trading to boot with other towns. An have almost attained being able to truly subsidize our wood costs. Lerendus has been working hard to open secure transports threw the NEA. Since our SaS is rather busy instead at this time. Further more We have two people who have taken up council positions increasing town involvement. Our market has leveled out a lot further than it had been previously, and I have been working hand and hand with great leaders such as Suan, and lord Justinan. We have trade points which we had none when I took office. Let alone locating knives when our black smiths were refusing to make.(Save for Ara who was told by Ilaniol we didn't need.) An helped a new level 3 take over as a black smith. Making sure the needed knives for pig farmers was available.

I say this fume all you wish, but it does not mean any one person is correct over another. When I leave BW and this mayor seat. It will be because of a select few who do not take accountability for their own actions. Former mayor Ilaniol for example he is the one who suggested to me that I change the name. A thought otherwise would have never crossed my mind. As I don’t care. Consider this fair warning. If you as a citizen wish to help your town. Truly and honestly help your town. Be ready to stand up and give and adult response, and opinion. Do not continue attacking such people who are there to serve you.

As I said Morrigan you are a bright light for this town, as is Sfb, lord Justinan, and many others. I hope you few continue to work with this town. I how ever being new, and clueless an worthless. An my absence and leaving is being cheered by the few. I will sit the remainder of this term as promised, but I will leave after. As a protest to the inexcusable abuse I have received. Even while trying to not spark issues. To BW enjoy the hard work many are doing to make us profits, cheap markets, affordable wood, and a light to others in need. As for me I will say no more on this matter unless it truly involves matters of the town, not someone who likes to abuse people using it as a way to bash another player.

May you all have a great day, and a time of solitude.

Thanks for the thought and response. I'm not particularly wise, I'm just one person with an opinion, but here goes, I'm going to start talking again anyway, as it is the best I can do..

Quote :
" To Dillian you screamed TH be brought here for council. Here it is rather than address me here you take it where you know I can not go? An spew such lies to further and purposely agitate?"

Just a quick, calm response here (not attacking.) I won't get drawn into this further and further. This is just to clarify, and then I'm done here.

I never screamed, said only that there were too many forums to juggle in general. Not meant to exclude you purposefully. Just for the sake of simplicity. For the record, I would argue likewise that this very forum should be transferred consolidated into the main RK forum as well. 1 forum for everything. Only one place to keep track of. But then, this is not up to me, nor is it even being discussed in any forum, that I know of.

You know, I'm sorry you can't post under the main RK forums, but I can't control that. That's where a lot happens. When I talk of too many forums, I'm not taking into account every person's circumstances, but looking at the big picture as I see it. It is hard to keep track of so many things at once. On the other hand, I am always in favour of gaining more input from more people's too.

My worry in the multitude of forums is this -- instead of us all taking turns speaking in one big room, there are several rooms with a similar conversation going on. The difference is, we can't hear every one in each different room and may miss very good ideas and points being made simply because we're not running into each room to overhear each separate conversation. It's stressful running from room to room, but the way things are now, if you don't run around from room to room, you *do* miss things. The main RK forum is where I tend to read the most and spend most of my time, so of course I posted there in response to a thread. I have to say, it comes off seeming rather presumptuous to assume that I, or anyone, spoke at one place just in order to avoid or exclude any one person from the conversation.

One last thing: I know the tavern thing is just one thing that's happened while you've been mayor, and certainly not the biggest thing, by far (but then, no one ever claimed it was). I am very sure being mayor is a lot of work (comes with the job), and things do seem to be going well on the whole, from what I'm seeing. But all this is just one fallible person's perspective out of many; and I don't plan on going anywhere, for whatever that may be worth.

I can't decide for others what they will do when I speak (in what ever I places I chose to speak). It is each person's choice to decide whether to listen and hear what someone else is saying , or whether not to. I simply put it out there, and shall continue doing so. Meanwhile, I shall continue trying to make BW a better place along with so many many good people here, both the ones who are well known and those more "behind the scenes" who may be less well-known or appreciated. Together we all help make this place better than it was.

Now call me an idealist for this if you will - just the same, I would encourage everyone to pull together and look forward so we can better see what lies ahead of us, rather than arguing about some potholes that were in the road behind us.

I don’t understand the issues going on.

People are angry at each other for no reason and I’m begging to be pissed off so it needs to stop.

Marz stop insulting Dyl he’s a good man with strong opinions who speaks them to much at times just like you. Dyl stop criticizing Marz if you have any criticisms I don’t care what they are you come to me if its worthy of being said Ill tell you if not Eat your words and don’t open your mouth.

Next Marz if ilaniol didn’t say something that you said he did, you need to publicly apologize now because lying about ilianiol is one of the worst things you can do if I’m mistaken just ignore the post and don’t respond.

Next for the price caps, I’m merely stating my opinion in that matter nothing towards you.

As for not caring about the loss of its citizens if that is any way directed towards, that is actually insulting I’ve seen many people leave and I miss them very much. One person I miss is Chardonnay who left because the flaming and insulting was so bad she couldn’t stand it so its people who argues fault that these people are leaving.

For all of this Political crap, I don’t really care all that I know is that it is being expressed in rude ways and behavior needs to be checked.

To Dyl and Marz Finally If you criticisms to any one you should criticize them respectfully and not to harm their political reputation.

Every one needs to learn to respect every one more, the atmosphere lately has been very disrespectful and I’m sick of it. It needs to stop here and now.

Ill be making this post here as well as the other forum.

I hope every one understands my points.

Ok as I said Im done with this topic. Lets just go with what everyone else has said.

Except for Ilaniol. I did research tonight threw my msn convos and it was another of the group who told me to change the name. I do owe you an appology.

Now if you will all excuse me I have way more pressing issues to attend to as another town just contacted me in msn in deperate need for what we have abundance of. Corn and flour.

Salude to you all.

Of course Ilaniol.

I am still getting mails to both sides of this issue. I will now say this for one final time. I am done with this issue. Please no more mails. The town tavern will be changed back fully the way it was. At least as close as I can make it.

IF any person of town has anymore issues with how TH is running. Please contact myself or the TH representative to RK forums. No longer run around starting more flame wars. Do not speak of laws being passed that have not.

ALL citizens of BW please all learn to at least in the town tavern. Learn to respect each other more. Just because it is a historic land mark to the town. Does NOT give any one person or group to mistreat people with in it’s bounds. This is not appropriate under any terms. Fifty one complaints is no laughing matter. Nor is it a matter of political leverage.

Also mind you polls of citizens is fine. It is each persons right, but do NOT fool yourself. Nor try to fool anyone else in to believing that some 20 votes represents our population. Any previous mayor can tell you this is false. Twenty some odd votes is NOT our population. In fact is purely a slim selection of. This is why the game shows a list of players. Why we have mayoral messages, and mass mail. We have a huge population of people who chose not to use forums of any kind. An yes many who are active.

I do not joke here. When I say fifty one complaints of our citizens IG of fifty one separate incidents is no joking matter. Period.

We have guests a plenty arriving in town. I am sure like many they will enjoy our facilities. These ARE community facilities. Not just to those many who scream loudest, or appear due to one poll have the most support. In fact it has gone the other way. I have had more mails saying the opposite. I have decided to return things the way the were. For one reason and one reason only. I am hoping both sides of this issue have awoken to each of the others.

As Morrigan said some things should remain the same. Now I trust you all to work harder at not only enjoying the facility, but making it more welcoming than just a handful who you prefer. All who use it should share this responsibility. It is no one persons problem to fix. This includes me. Now this topic is done. Any other issues can be put in a different thread addressing the specific issue.

Merrily
Marzy

(Things will return as soon as I can get in around this silly bug we are rotted with at the moment.)
